As you prepare for graduation, this is a time of reflection and pride while you consider your achievements, the relationships you have built, and the legacy you will leave behind. You can honor your time at Cal State LA and make a meaningful difference on campus and the community beyond with a contribution to the 2025 Class Gift. This will support the University’s Urban Ecology Center (UEC), a critical initiative committed to environmental education, urban sustainability, and the creation of green spaces for future Golden Eagles.
The 2025 Class Gift is a partnership with Commencement, the Urban Ecology Center, and the Office of Annual Giving.
Why Urban Ecology?
Enhance Urban Green Spaces through the development and maintenance of green spaces on campus, providing areas for relaxation that promote well-being and foster collaboration.
Educate and Empower Future Generations by supporting current and future students in their research projects that promote sustainability.
Promote Community Engagement by providing accessible nature-based activities and events that foster connection and understanding between our community and the environment.
In honor of the Class of 2025, the California native plants used at University Commencement will be returned to campus and planted as part of the Urban Ecology Center’s sustainability efforts.
Graduates who donate $25 or more will receive special donor cords to wear during the ceremony, symbolizing their appreciation for their time at Cal State LA and helping ensure future Golden Eagles have the same opportunities.
Beyond the environmental impact, each contribution will serve as a powerful reminder that the Class of 2025 came together to plant something meaningful, lasting, and impactful.

If you make a gift by Tuesday, March 25, 2025, the donor cord can be picked up at Grad Fair 2025 at the University-Student Union Plaza on Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Otherwise, the Office of Annual Giving will contact you regarding pick-up information.
